Lorna Allan . About

A committed and passionate artist Lorna works constantly to update her skills and knowledge base interacting with artists around the world to continually to raise the standard of her work.

While continuing with her New Zealand paintings Lorna loves to travel, most recently extended journeys through Alaska, a place she has longed to visit for many years. A wild and beautiful country it totally captured her soul and inspired many paintings with more to come. Works from this collection are now on view here on her website alongside her New Zealand paintings. Her international paintings have been purchased locally while others have returned to Alaska. A number of commissions have also resulted from these travels.

She spent time traveling with friend and photographer Hugh Rose http://www.hughrosephotography.com/ on journeys based on photography, ecology and wild life. Learning finer points of photography has enabled her to capture better images for future artworks, while the combination of the three elements have helped her to view things from a new perspective and bring more passion and mood to her works.
Lorna is represented by ArtReal Gallery, Parnell Auckland NZ and regularly exhibits throughout New Zealand. Her paintings are held in private collections in the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia.
